On July 19, 2013, the Cassini spacecraft pointed its camera back at Earth to take our picture from the Saturn system. NASA encouraged everyone to smile, wave, and snap a photo of our own. From more than 40 countries and 30 U.S. states, people shared more than 1,400 images of themselves, via Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Google+ and email. As a tribute to the people of Earth, NASA assembled this collage from the shared images, using an image of Earth as the base image.
