A large waxing gibbous moon is lighting up the evening sky right now. A waxing gibbous moon appears high in the east at sunset. It’s more than half-lighted, but less than full. The full moon will arrive on July 22, 2013 – it’s another supermoon.
Here are two lovely photos of the moon last night (July 18). This top photo was taken by EarthSky Facebook friend Anthony Lynch in Dublin, Ireland.
This one is by Michael Walton, taken in Carmyllie, a rural parish in Angus, Scotland.
