If you haven’t seen this short film by John Kahrs yet, this Valentine’s Day 2013 is the perfect time. For one thing, it’s a nominee for Best Animated Short Film in this year’s Academy Awards, which are coming up on Sunday, February 24. This category contains some of the most enjoyable and artistic films of this year including Adam and Dog by Minkyu Lee (which you can easily find on YouTube) and others. Enjoy Paperman on this Valentine’s Day. I know I did.

Deborah Byrd (asteroid 3505 Byrd) helps edit EarthSky.org and is a frequent host of EarthSky videos. Deborah created the EarthSky radio series in 1991 and founded EarthSky.org in 1994. Prior to that, she had worked for the University of Texas McDonald Observatory since 1976, and created and produced their Star Date radio series.
