Fruska Gora
January 13, 2018
Fruska Gora is Serbia’s oldest national park, located on a mountain in the northern part of the country. Fruska Gora National Park is home to fossils, vineyards, and 16 medieval monasteries. An organization in Serbia called Carpe Noctem is trying to preserve the night sky in the country by organizing astrohikes in the mountains and an eco-festival called Star Triathlon. An EarthSky user describes Fruksa Gora as follows: “Because of its night silence and lack of action, the sky is dark and wide. A big quantity of constellations can be noticed above you.”
