Saona Island

Saona Island is located off the southeast tip of the Dominican Republic and is part of East National Park. Saona Island is the largest coastal island of the Dominican Republic but has a population of only about 300 people. An EarthSky user says, “A complete absence of light pollution and vast open beach areas to observe the galaxies unimpeded while being caressed by gentle Caribbean breezes…”
