Scottish Dark Sky Observatory
December 28, 2017
The Scottish Dark Sky Observatory is located on a hilltop at the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park. The observatory is 52 miles (83 km) south of Glasgow. The Dark Sky Park was the first in the UK and Europe and has been awarded Gold Tier status by the International Dark Sky Association. The Scottish Dark Sky Observatory requires reservations for the evening sessions, which include a presentation, tour and telescopic observing. The observatory also holds special sessions during new moon and meteor showers, among other events.
