Atton’s Lake Regional Park
May 15, 2017
Atton’s Lake Regional Park, in Saskatchewan (Canada), lies 15.4 miles (9.6 km) east of Cut Knife on Highway 40, then 15.4 miles (9.6 km) north. The park features a spring-fed, clear water lake with sandy beaches, with camping, picnic and playground facilities near the water. A visitor’s fee is required for entry, and the park is open from May 15 to September 30. Reasonably dark skies around Bortle class 3 are found around Atton’s Lake, and a stargazer told EarthSky that the park has “lots of areas to watch the night sky with no interference from artificial lights.”
