Cheile Dobrogei
August 25, 2018
Cheile Dobrogei is located just outside Constanta, Romania, not far from the Black Sea. These rocky cliffs, popular with climbers, were declared a natural reserve. Many migratory birds visit the limestone gorges, which were once reefs during the Jurassic period. The site is open 24 hours and is far enough out from the city to provide decent darkness. An visitor from EarthSky describes Cheili Dobrogei as a “Place with little light pollution.”
