Tybee Island Fishing Pier and Pavilion
August 9, 2018
Tybee Island Fishing Pier and Pavilion is located on Tybee Beach just 18 miles (29 km) east of downtown Savannah, Georgia. Also known as Tybee Beach Pier, the pier is free and open to the public until 11 pm. The pavilion can be rented for weddings or other special events. The beach looks southeast over the darkened Atlantic Ocean. An EarthSky visitor says, “Tybee Island Pier is such an awesome place to stargaze because there’s not a lot of lighting in the area. At night, the sky is more visible than most areas here.”
