Cypress Landing Astronomy Park
November 1, 2017
Located approximately half an hour east of Tallahassee, the Cypress Landing Astronomy Park is a county park which has an observatory owned and used by the Tallahassee Astronomical Society. The observatory has a 14 inch Celestron telescope. The observing pad and the observatory are located in the park at the end of the road into the facilities, on a little hill above the parking lot. The park (boat ramp) is open 24/7/365 to the general public. Camping is not allowed. Fellow stargazers report that it’s a “great place to watch the stars and relax at the lake” and that there is a “boat ramp, small dock in water and unbelievable star gazing”.
