North Georgia Astronomical Observatory

The North Georgia Astronomical Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by University of North Georgia, just 61 miles (98 km) northeast of Marietta, Georgia. It serves as home to the George E. Coleman Sr. Planetarium, where students and the general public can explore the night sky as seen from Earth or into the cosmos to explore other worlds in the dome-shaped theater. Camping is not allowed here, however admission is open to students any clear night Monday through Friday while classes are in session, as well as the general public on Friday nights for shows and more beginning at 9:30 p.m. For more information, please visit online or call 706-864-8642.
