Manistee National Forest
October 21, 2016
Manistee National Forest is situated on the west side of the peninsula of Michigan. Amid varied and scenic terrain, the park features an extensive amount of campsites, hiking trails, water sports and more. Manistee National Forest combined with Huron National Forest for administrative purposes and they are often found mentioned together on websites, but they are two separate locations. A stargazer told EarthSky the following about Manistee: “Very few if any sources of light pollution. Excellent viewing when the sky is clear.”
