In this episode of Why With Nye, legendary educator Bill Nye gives you the scoop on NASA Juno’s historic Earth flyby on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. The Juno spacecraft will re-enter an Earth orbit during the flyby. It’ll use Earth’s gravity to slingshot it via gravity assist all the way to Jupiter. Watch Bill Nye explain why the Juno spacecraft is being routed so close to Earth, and what the craft will do when it reaches Jupiter in 2016.
