" BOLOVIAN PURE SKY "
.
Fewer and fewer corners of the world remain free of light pollution. However, we can still find one such place in the Bolivian altiplano, a high-altitude region in the Andes mountain range, averaging 3,700 metres above sea level.
This place is simply fascinating, with skies so dark that the stars seem to be within reach. It is curious that, despite the darkness of the night, the glow of the firmament illuminates the ground without the need for obtrusive headlights.
It is a true paradise, with most of the skies having a Bortle 1 classification, as can be seen in this photograph, and around 4,600 metres in altitude. The rock formations are simply incredible, offering so many possibilities that it would take many nights to fully enjoy their compositions.
