Lali Gurans (I).
Last week, me and Basudeb Chakrabarti embarked upon a journey to the Rhododendron Capital (Gurans Valley) of Nepal. We did not have a strict plan nor a specific place to stay. This made the trip somewhat adventurous and full of surprises. We spent three nights in this region, but the weather seemed to be against us. On these three nights, we got only a couple of hours worth of clear bortle 1 skies.
On our second night, we went to sleep with heavy rain and hailstorm. Just after midnight, we woke up to a clear sky. Half awakened, we ran to the field with our slippers (we only changed it to our shoes half an hour later). As a bonus, there was a black out in the region. The huge milky way arm welcomed us!
