Image Details:

Saw a pair of wood ducks and this is the drake or the male. The hen (the female) which is brown in color is not in the photo. The male wood duck is the most colorful of North American ducks.

As their name implies, wood ducks are associated with timbered wetlands, nesting in cavities and sometimes even feeding in trees.
