The king tides bring high water levels and a ton of energy behind the massive waves that roll in. The waves have so much energy that they literally smash against the rocks with a resounding boom and explode into the air. This picture not only captures one such wave at its height, but illustrates just how high the spray reaches in perspective to the bluff and houses nearby.
