I had walked outside to get the mail and there were iridescent high altitude clouds below the afternoon sun.

Wiki says - Iridescent clouds are a diffraction phenomenon caused by small water droplets or small ice crystals individually scattering light.

I do appreciate the science and physics behind their occurrence, but the beauty of them is enough for me.
