The American Coot was the intended target species on this visit to the Jordan River. I did see 3 pairs, but they were either far away or heading away from me. Not enough stealth on my part. So to make the most of the birding session, I captured a trio of Mallards, 2 drakes and a hen, as they launched off the water's surface. Maybe tomorrow is my lucky day.
