Winter in Upstate New York is a great time to capture all kinds of migrating birds & raptors. In our area we have local Bald Eagles, but when the lakes and rivers start freezing over eagles from all over gather at communal feeding sites & roosts, where there is open water. Usually near dams & falls. I am very fortunate to live so close to Cohoes Falls, where in the last couple of weeks we have been seeing dozens of eagles varying in ages from immatures to adults. Unfortunately, lots of branches!
