The Kona Low system in this last few days resulted in freezing conditions atop Maunakea and Maunaloa. This photo shows the cinder cone Haukea ( means Snow White in Hawaiian), cinder Waiau to the right, and the massive Maunaloa looming in the background. As you can see, Maunaloa has stopped erupting. It was definitely bone chilling conditions up here.
