Mars at its Closest Approach - 1st Dec 2022

Mars was closest to Earth yesterday, having around 17 arc seconds in apparent disk size and will not be this close until 2031. It would reach its exact opposition on 8th Dec 2022. Now is the best time to observe Mars, its features and image it.

Mt. Serinum region can be seen in the lower half of the Martian Disk.

Camera Used: ZWO ASI178MC with Celestron 2X Barlow.
Stabilized 7000 frames and stacked 50% frames in Autostakkert3.
