Canon T3i, 70-200 zoom lens @ 200mm, handheld, indoors.

Image Details:

These are some of the better images of the visiting Sharp-shinned Hawk. Most of the time it was intent on the hunt and not posing for the camera. The fiery red eyes, yellow cere ( nostril area ) , seriously wicked beak and deadly talons all come together to the provide this hunter with all the tools it needs to successfully provide a meal for itself, partner and offspring.

The feeders were completely absent of birds for the rest of the day. They have since returned and I'm confident so will another Hawk... hunting for a meal.
