This perched Common Raven was a first for our yard (we’ve had flyovers but never a perched bird.) It perched and called until a second calling bird flew in and the perched bird took off with it.
Ravens were practically unheard of in our area until a few years ago, when their range began to expand.
They are such charismatic and intelligent birds and this sighting was a welcome sight on a dreary day.
