Its plumage is very bright and bright, the feathers on its head are erect, and the cheeks are bright red. The bottom left photo is of it flapping its wings so hard that it will attract the attention of the female bird! The scientific name of Swinhoe's Pheasant is Lophura swinhoii. It is a bird endemic to Taiwan and was introduced to the Western world by the famous naturalist Robert Swinhoe in the 19th century. Because the whole body of the male bird is almost blue, the Chinese name is "藍腹鷴", which means blue-bellied Pheasant. It generally lives in forests at low and medium altitudes in Taiwan.
