A windy and cooler day for us here in the northwest Sonoran desert provided unexpected cirrus clouds (horsetail clouds) and what appears to be a line of Kelvin-Holzhauer clouds in the distance. Taken from my backyard facing north, the winds were from the northwest at about 12 miles per hour.
Associated with the possibility of rain, the day remained dry, and the sky soon cleared.
