This lone spotted dove (Spilopelia chinensis) seems not intimidated by the presence of the Asian glossy starlings (Aplonis panayensis) numbering about 12 from this picture. It was quite a scene to see these birds resting on a street lamp post instead of a tree. The Asian glossy starling is a species of starling in the family Sturnidae, while the spotted dove is a small and somewhat long-tailed pigeon that is a common resident breeding bird across its native range on the Indian subcontinent and in Southeast Asia.
