Antares rocket launch from Wallops, VA - view above Manhattan, despite cloudy skies.

NASA scrubbed the initial Antares launch yesterday Nov 6 due to a fire alarm. Yesterday's weather prospective was much better in the tri-state area (New York) so it would have been better skies.

With an unfavorable weather forecast for the tri state area for its revised launch window - Nov 7, (some showers and cloudy skies), there was uncertainty as to what could be seen in the early morning skies over Manhattan. However, those who woke up at 5:35 a.m. were treated to a spectacular show lasting 30-40 sec., with an amazing spiral vapor trail from a separated booster rocket viewed above New York City this morning. Viewed/photographed from New Jersey.
