There's a Fungus among us! Just outside my office door is a tree stump with a cluster of mushrooms growing on it. This particular fungus is known as the Oyster mushroom or oyster fungus, in Japanese, it's hiratake and is a common edible mushroom. The nickname is "stumpies" due to the common growth habitat being tree stumps or on fallen trees. These look a little past their prime edible condition so I'm passing on this clump of stumpies. The earth and sky is just right outside your door and ready to explore. Keep looking up...and down, too.
