Equipment Details:

Today's partial solar eclipse at maximum obscuration (13:47 Izmır time), from Urla lskele, on the Aegean coast facing the islet of Ada Hastanesi (Klazomenai). A Canon 500D attached to the prime focus of a Meade 90mm ETX Maksutov telescope, 1/8 s exposure 200 ISO, with a Thousand Oaks Optical solar filter Type 2+ ahead of the corrector plate. Obscuration of the Sun at the time this image was taken was approximately 29.6%.

Post-processing Details:

One very nasty hair sneaked onto the sensor during system assembly and moved around during the eclipse, making it impossible to compensate with flat fielding. lt was eliminated by a minor use of Photoshop cosmetic tools. No sunspots were affected by this action as shown by comparison with NASA images (https://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/latest/latest_1024_HMIIC.jpg) but some dust spots remain uncorrected.

Image Details:

Solar eclipses never get old. Sheep were grazing nearby in recently reaped fields and large flocks of blackbirds were in the air. The location was completely silent, blue sky, animals, a light breeze, and, at some point, the call to prayer. A very unforgettable experience removed from the cares of the world.
