Young Bald Eagles look so different from their adult counterparts. This bird, likely a second year bird shows a lot more dark plumage and lacks the white head and tail of adult birds which take approximately 4-5 years to obtain.
This immature bird flew directly over the Cape May Hawkwatch today and got lots of “ooooohs” from the crowd.
