I decided to go for a walk after dinner, and this beautiful sight greeted me-a display of anti- crepuscular rays emanating from the Spring Mountains between Pahrump ,Nevada and Las Vegas, Nevada. This is what I learned- very rare!
Anti-Crepuscular Rays. This phenomena occurs when low-angled sunlight gets blocked by cloud cover…and would be visible on the opposite horizon. That is, sunrise rays would be visible in the western sky, or sunset rays in the east.
