July 2022, I had the good fortune of viewing Mont Blanc close up-front from the Aiguille du Midi viewing deck. Amazing experience!!
But, as our bus left Chamonix at the end of the day, I glanced back to say a final good bye to Mont Blanc. The setting sun had turned the whole massif Golden....what a sight!
But then, I saw the moon rising right above Mont Blanc. My phone was the only camera I had in hand at that point. The bus was moving...the angle would change...moon would go behind that peak.....and the shot would have been lost had I tried to get my Nikon out of the bag. The next click registers that.
If you happen to take this trip and leave the valley at sunset, keep you best camera handy. I am smiling anyway....I think I turned my head just in time.
