Equipment Details:

Dobsonian 10.1” home built from my Coulter. (Most of the MDF replaced with aluminum). iPhone 12 clamped to a Plossl eyepiece.

Post-processing Details:

Video of Sirius broken up into a random number of individual images. The images were cropped and combined into a collage using Paper by WeTransfer. No color post processing was done.

Image Details:

I have often seen Sirius flash in the morning like a stoplight. I wondered if I could video the event with my iPhone afocally. It worked. I added a diffraction spike net to the front of the Dob to spread the light a bit and enhance any colors. (The diffraction spike net is a ten inch embroidery hoop with six fishing line spikes that spread the light.
