Silver-spotted skippers (Epargyreus clarus) are said to be the most recognizable skipper in North America. It occurs naturally throughout most of the United States as well as southern Canada and Northern Mexico.
I enjoyed watching this one flit around the vegetation at the pond at the Manasquan Reservoir environmental center.
