Recently, I was photographing my favorite dragonfly, a Halloween Pennant in Cape May. When I got home and reviewed my photos, I noticed the sun glistening off the spiderweb below the dragonfly’s feet.

Halloween Pennants get their name from their coloring, orange and brown with red on the face, and pennant from their common behavior of perching on an object and “waving in the breeze.”

*Note: no dragonflies were caught in a spiderweb in the making of this photo! :)
