It was an awesome moment when the bald eagle suddenly flew out of the tree, right past me, to catch a fish. A big "swoosh" is what I heard. The eagle's eyes are specially designed for long distance focus and clarity. In the day, an eagle's eyesight is 3-4 times better than a human's. Also, they are capable of seeing fish in the water from several hundred feet above, while soaring, gliding, or in flapping flight.
