The waxing gibbous moon seen here almost an hour before sunset. The moon was 367,737 km away from Earth when this picture was taken. The mare and craters are clearly visible at this zoom. Though occasional clouds cover the sky, the moon makes its intermittent appearance throughout the day and wee hours of the morning.
