A very rare sight of a beautiful black-tailed deer walking just across the street from our house. This is a young male, a buck, as evidenced by his young antlers which will attain full size in 4 to 5 years. Black-tailed deer are reddish-brown in summer and brownish-gray during winter. They have excellent sense of smell and sight. and they can move each of their large ears independently!
