We had just spent three hours in a small, flourescent-lit exam room of a medical high-rise in Seattle discussing uncomfortable pre-op details for an upcoming surgery. Needing the fresh air and "true" light of the natural environment afterward, we went to the upper deck of the ferry as we headed home. Due to climate change, we had experienced many weeks of unseasonable and record-breaking rainfall. This incredibly bright and serene scene took our breath away, and nourished us in a way we hadn't realized we'd needed.
