Oxford Island Nature Reserve
November 17, 2018
Oxford Island Nature Reserve is located on the shore of Lough Neagh in Northern Ireland. Recognized by the International Dark Sky Association as a Dark Sky Discovery Site, the reserve has hosted BBC Stargazing Life and other events. The nature reserve is open to pedestrians at all times, but please note that the gates are locked to vehicles overnight. An EarthSky visitor calls Oxford Island Nature Reserve “the only place in Northern Ireland with recognized Dark Sky status. On the edge of Lough Neagh. Rural area.”
