Observatoire Centre Ardennes is located 100 miles (160 km) southeast of Brussels, Belgium. A narrow lane leads to the site in the quiet countryside. Some of the popular activities include planetarium shows and telescopic observing. Overnight experiences are also available, but in order to join any of the fun, you must make a reservation in advance. An EarthSky friend describes Observatoire Centre Ardennes as “One of the best places to stargaze in Belgium.”
Deborah Byrd created the EarthSky radio series in 1991 and founded EarthSky.org in 1994. Today, she serves as Editor-in-Chief of this website. A science communicator and educator since 1976, Byrd believes in science as a force for good in the world and a vital tool for the 21st century. "Being an EarthSky editor is like hosting a big global party for cool nature-lovers," she says.
