Echo Lake Park

Echo Lake Park is a park located along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway, just 34 miles (56 km) west of Denver, Colorado. Please note that while this is not a designated stargazing area, the park provides reasonable stargazing opportunity and is open to the public year-round. The picturesque Echo Lake sits at 10,600 feet (3,200 m) at the base of Mount Evans. Fishing, hiking and sightseeing brings visitors by year round. The lake itself is part of the Echo Lake Mountain Park, managed by the Denver City and County. Echo Lake Lodge is right above the lake and has a general store and restaurant inside. Echo Lake Campground is managed by the United States Forest Service, and located within the Arapaho National Forest adjacent to the lake. For more information, please visit online or call the Idaho Springs Office at 303-567-3000.
