The Crescent Moon and Crescent Venus in the Blue Sky
Today, just before the dark clouds consumed the western sky, I finally managed to snap a photo of the large crescent moon and the small crescent Venus in the blue sky! The large crescent is the waxing crescent moon, with only 11.6% illumination. The small crescent is Venus below the Moon, with only 14.5% illumination, making it also crescent-shaped. However, Venus appears too small, with an apparent diameter of only about 1/38th of the moon. To see the smaller crescent-shaped Venus in the blue sky, use binoculars or a longer lens - it's small yet charming!
