This was shot during April's New Moon phase on the night of the 19-20th early morning hours. The sky is a Bortle Class 2 dark sky with this data: SQM: 21.97 mag./arc sec2
Brightness: 0.176 mcd/m2 ...Artif. bright. : 4.51 μcd/m2...Ratio 0.0264...Bortle class 2...Elevation: 1301 meters above sea level. Approximately 85 miles west of Salt Lake City.
i.e.- the closest, darkest night sky to my home. Well worth the short drive and loss of sleep. I'm very fortunate to have this opportunity to see so many stars in our night skies.
