We can see all the visible planets in the sky at once every few years. These are extraordinarily beautiful and can even be spiritual occasions. These arrangements make it easy to see the path of the ecliptic across the sky and visualize our own place in the Solar System.
The scale of this event is so vast across the sky that you need to see the whole 30MP original image. Them Mercury and nearby Aldebaran are easy to spot as are the Pleiades to the left of the Moon.
My first image of an event like this was made in 2016 and remains one of my favorites. I was thrilled to finally have decent skies on the morning with the best arrangement of the crescent moon.
