Today, we took the opportunity to hike up Haukea cinder cone atop Maunakea. The condition was good with fresh snow and not much wind. This is from the top looking across to the many cinder cones that dot the top of Maunakea. Particularly, a symmetrical cone named Lilinoe which is named after the Hawaiian Goddess of fine mist. Hawaiian mythological stories abound here which makes it a spiritual place for the Native Hawaiians.
