Komorebi (木漏れ日) is a Japanese word used to describe this effect when sunlight shines through trees. The kanji 木 means ‘tree’; 漏 means ‘leaking through’ or ‘escape’; 日, is ‘light‘ or ‘sun‘. Seen here is the corona effect, produced by the diffraction of light by airborne dust or mist/water droplets in the atmosphere. It appears as a bright central white aureole, surrounded by a fringe of colors ranging from blue on the inside to green, yellow and red on the outside.
