This dramatic video caught cars swept away from flash floods yesterday in Toowoomba, a city in Queensland, Australia.
Warning – most deaths from flash floods occur when people attempt to drive through them. The person who attempted to rescue their vehicle in this video was very lucky.
Swollen rivers in Queensland carry heavy sediments to Australian coast
The city of Toowoomba, Australia reportedly saw six inches of rain in 30 minutes on January 10, 2010, leading to nine people killed and 59 missing. This spring has been the wettest on record for the state of Queensland and has resulted in 19 people killed and five billion dollars of damage to date.
