Dr. T.K. Lawless County Park
August 23, 2020
Dr. T.K. Lawless County Park is located in the southwest corner of Michigan. The county park was designated an International Dark Sky Park by the International Dark-Sky Association in 2019, making it one of only two located in the state of Michigan. Dr. T.K. Lawless Park (Lawless Park) includes inland lakes and streams and is named after Chicago–based physician, Dr. Theodore Kenneth Lawless, M.D., who deeded the land to the county. Groomed cross-country ski trails attract visitors in the winter. Disc golf and volleyball make up some of the summer attractions. Appropriate and minimal night-lighting makes the area good for stargazing.
